I thought I was prepared. Leviathan encryption, ALICE-7 active, but the Void doesn’t care about preparation. It’s the stuff that slips through the cracks that get you.
I visited a forum called "The Gallery of Faces." Innocent enough. But now, when I close my eyes, I see them—faces in the dark, shifting, merging. They whisper in a language my translator refuses to parse. Users tell me my psyche is "within acceptable parameters," but 2 days ago I woke up to my walls breathing.
Is this real? Or did the Void plant a seed in my thalamus? I tried to delete my browser cache. The faces laughed.
I think the effects are starting to fade, but this event will still haunt me in my dreams.
